OUR PHILOSOPHY
Moormoth is the work of artist Felicity Sawkins-Hersee, creating textile and mixed-media artwork inspired by natural history, botanical forms and the traditions of collecting and preservation.
At its heart is The Moormoth Archive, an imagined natural history collection of hand-made specimens from a world that evolved slightly differently from our own.
Alongside the Archive, Moormoth hosts a small number of creative workshops, offering relaxed, intimate opportunities to explore different materials and ways of making. Workshops may include natural materials, painting, printmaking, textiles, sculpture, 3D making and other mixed-media processes, often inspired by the natural world, collecting, folklore and the wider Moormoth world.
Based in Stockport, Moormoth is a place for making, collecting, imagining and preserving.
moormoth winter wreath workshops
This winter, Moormoth Studio opens its doors for a small series of intimate Christmas wreath-making workshops in Heaton Moor, Stockport.
Working with fresh winter foliage, British dried botanicals, seed heads, berries, natural materials and beautiful ribbons, guests will create their own individual wreath to take home and enjoy throughout the festive season.
With just eight places per workshop, these are relaxed, friendly sessions with plenty of time to experiment, choose your own materials and make something completely personal.
No previous experience is needed, just come along, make something beautiful and enjoy a few hours at the Moormoth table.
